Rust-Oleum Expands Kenosha Warehouse with $7M Project Amid Regional Growth

Rust-Oleum’s plans for a 250,000-square-foot expansion of its Kenosha warehouse underscore the company’s continued growth and commitment to strengthening its presence in Wisconsin. The $7 million expansion project, submitted by Chicago-based developer First Industrial Realty Trust Inc., is set to build on the existing 600,000-square-foot warehouse located at 8505 50th Street, near the Kenosha Regional Airport. Originally constructed in 2007 with future expansion in mind, the warehouse will soon see its capabilities extended even further.

The Kenosha project is not an isolated development but part of a broader investment push by Rust-Oleum, which recently announced the addition of a new production line at its Pleasant Prairie manufacturing facility. This expansion, highlighted by Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, is expected to create 54 new jobs and represents a $1.3 million investment in the region. The Kenosha warehouse itself currently employs 104 individuals and is set to add 16 more jobs as a result of this latest development, according to Kenosha Deputy Planning Director Rich Schroeder. Site grading for the expansion is anticipated to begin this year, signaling a steady timeline for growth and reinforcing the area’s reputation as a bustling hub for warehousing and distribution.

With three batting cages, training classes for players aged 8 to 18, and an Astroturf practice area, the complex’s pilot program aims to gauge local interest in winter baseball training.
